Joining the University of Washington team!

Big news! At the end of April, I will be stepping into a new phase in my career. The University of Washington’s Alumni Association is bringing me aboard as a Content and Media Editor. This means that I get to research, write, and edit compelling stories to support the extraordinary educational mission of UW.

The metaphor of germinating seeds feels very appropriate.

It will be an interesting transition to move from informal science education to higher ed! But the goal of telling compelling stories that build connections and inspire folks to make the world a better place is a lovely common thread between these roles. And with luck, there will still be a wealth of fun science content to sink my teeth into—check out the inspiring stories that make up the UW’s “Be Boundless” campaign for examples.

The University of Washington is known for its cutting-edge science and medical research.

I have been fortunate to work for many amazing organizations throughout my career, and I am excited to join this stellar team for my next step. As a bonus, this is going to be hands-down the tallest building that I have ever worked in. (Or it will be once the pandemic restrictions are lifted; the team is still very much in work-from-home status for now.)

Up, up, and away!
